Well just though I would let anyone interested know that I have just started implementing our 1 and only piece of data collection. I know that data collection is a dirt word for many, but let me tell you exactly what we are doing and why.
First of all, we are not collecting any personal data at all! we are only gathering basic statistics such as the number of successfully traded positions, and the profit associated with it. We may decide to place it in the profile view for each individual, allowing them to see how successful our bot has been for them, with their statistics. Then we will take this data, and compile it completely anonomously into a basic site wide stat... so that after many people have tested the bot, we can report how successful it has been for our users.
And that's it - we just want to be able to show people how successful we are at any given time.
Hope that is ok with everyone. ... we are also implementing this in the open source core, so that everyone will be able to see the code and be able to trust what we are collecting is exactly what we say.
